IDENTIFIED

On 9/22/2026, at 10:15 AM EDT, a software update was deployed to support authentication services used by Connected Life Platform (CLP) captive portals. Shortly after deployment, several Hyatt properties began experiencing authentication failures caused by an error in the splash page authentication workflow. As a result, some users were unable to successfully authenticate and access network services through affected captive portals. At 1:55 PM EDT - The engineering team was alerted and began investigating the issue. During troubleshooting, it was determined that a change included in the deployment caused the captive portal authentication process to handle device authorization incorrectly, resulting in authentication failures for affected users. At 2:05 PM EDT - The issue was corrected and service functionality was restored. Following restoration, users were again able to successfully authenticate through affected Hyatt captive portals.

RESOLVED

Root Cause / Corrective Actions During the root cause investigation, it was determined that a software change included in a recent deployment unintentionally altered the handling of device authorization data within the captive portal authentication workflow. This condition resulted in authentication failures for users attempting to access services through affected Hyatt portals. Once the software change was corrected, authentication requests were processed successfully and normal operation was restored. As part of the corrective action process, the team identified gaps in test coverage that allowed the issue to pass validation prior to deployment. Additional safeguards have been implemented to improve detection of similar issues before release.
